Camera Imaging Software Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You are an experienced software developer with at least 4 years of experience in the field, particularly in camera sensor and imaging technologies. You have a strong understanding of SerDes and MIPI camera driver development, and you are proficient in at least two programming languages among C, C++, Python, and Rust. Your background includes working on embedded systems, specifically with Linux porting and middleware development.

You possess a solid grasp of performance optimization techniques, particularly in the context of CPU, ISP, and memory I/O utilization analysis. Your experience includes bring-up and configuration of external ISPs, and you are familiar with multimedia open-source tools like V4L2, GStreamer, and FFmpeg. You are also knowledgeable about fault tolerance systems and functional safety in automotive applications, which is a preferred qualification for this role.

Desirable

While not mandatory, experience with automotive camera systems and an understanding of fault tolerance systems would be advantageous. Familiarity with the latest imaging technologies and trends in the automotive industry will also set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing camera drivers and bringing up embedded camera systems on an embedded Linux platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize the performance of camera vision applications, ensuring that they meet the high standards required for autonomous driving and infotainment systems. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and optimizing the utilization of CPU, ISP, and memory I/O to enhance overall system performance.

You will also engage in the configuration of external ISPs and contribute to the development of video/image pre-processing algorithms. Collaboration with hardware engineers and other software developers will be key as you work to integrate camera systems into larger automotive platforms. You will participate in the entire development lifecycle, from initial design through to product launch, ensuring that the systems you develop are robust and reliable.
