Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a related field, with a strong background in building and maintaining reliable systems. Your expertise in cloud platforms like AWS and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes allows you to effectively manage and scale applications. You are proficient in scripting and automation, particularly with Python, which you use to streamline operations and improve system reliability. Your experience with incident management and change management processes enables you to guide teams in best practices for operational excellence. You understand the importance of observability and have implemented monitoring solutions that provide visibility into application performance. You thrive in collaborative environments, engaging with engineering teams to foster a culture of reliability and resilience.

Desirable

Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. You have a solid understanding of Linux systems and can troubleshoot issues effectively. Knowledge of chaos engineering principles and practices would be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Affirm, you will lead efforts to define and implement frameworks for operating applications effectively. Your role will involve driving the incident management and analysis process, ensuring that incidents are resolved efficiently and lessons learned are documented for future reference. You will steer the implementation of change management and deployment practices, collaborating closely with engineering teams to enhance their operational capabilities. Engaging in architectural discussions, you will recommend observability and alerting configurations that help teams proactively manage their services. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their roles.
