Who you are
You have a PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, along with 4+ years of experience in these domains. Your background includes 3+ years of hands-on experience in deep learning and computer vision, where you've implemented algorithms that solve complex problems. You are proficient in programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python, and have experience in professional software development. You understand the nuances of applying theoretical models in practical environments, and you are passionate about advancing the field through research and innovation.
Desirable
Experience with human-robot interaction and a strong understanding of algorithms implementation will set you apart. Familiarity with edge computing and multi-modal sensor fusion is a plus, as is a track record of publishing novel techniques or filing patents in the field.
What you'll do
In this role, you will drive applied research in on-device computer vision and multi-modal machine learning, focusing on object detection, tracking, event classification, and visual language understanding. You will balance innovation with pragmatism by shipping models that meet strict production requirements, including latency, memory, power, and accuracy. You will own the complete machine learning lifecycle, from problem formulation and dataset curation to model development, edge optimization, and production validation at scale. Your contributions will not only advance the field but also deliver production-ready models that enhance the capabilities of Amazon's devices.
