Job Description
Who you are
You have at least 6 years of experience working in a high-volume corporate immigration environment, either at a company with a large immigration program or a law firm specializing in full-service business immigration. Your background has equipped you with the skills to manage complex legal issues and navigate the intricacies of immigration compliance. You possess a Bachelor's degree or have accumulated 5+ years of experience at Amazon, demonstrating your familiarity with the company's culture and operational standards. Your knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma concepts allows you to assess and implement improvements effectively, ensuring that processes are efficient and compliant.
You are a proactive problem solver who stays current on legal changes by monitoring relevant portals, publications, and notifications. Your ability to conduct root cause analyses enables you to identify and address compliance risks before they escalate. You are skilled in developing communication and change management strategies, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process. Your experience in managing difficult legal issues with external providers and internal legal teams showcases your ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and tact.
Desirable
A JD or Masterβs degree in a related field would be a valuable asset, enhancing your understanding of the legal landscape surrounding immigration. Your experience in designing and implementing new contacts and communication mechanisms will contribute to improving the overall experience for Amazonians and candidates alike. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and have a track record of driving service launches that meet both customer experience and legal compliance standards.
What you'll do
In this role, you will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for US Immigration, resolving complex immigration escalations for Amazonians and candidates. You will manage relationships with external legal providers and internal business customers, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing new communication mechanisms to enhance the experience and reduce costs associated with immigration services. You will assess and improve mechanisms to close immigration compliance risks, ensuring that the organization remains compliant with all legal requirements.
You will develop implementation plans to drive new service launches that meet customer experience and legal compliance bars. This will involve defining and executing communication and change management strategies, along with related artifacts to support these initiatives. Regular progress updates will be a key part of your role, as you will manage and drive delivery to partners, stakeholders, and leadership, fostering visibility and accountability across the organization.
Monitoring and responding to changes in the immigration landscape will be a critical aspect of your job. You will stay current on legal changes and escalate issues that impact project delivery and customer experience in a timely manner. Your ability to review project impacts and readjust based on new legal requirements will be essential in overseeing change management effectively.
