Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in controls and automation systems, with experience in deploying and servicing building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS). You understand the complexities of data center operations and are passionate about ensuring their efficiency and reliability. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside software, hardware, and network engineers to tackle challenging problems in AWS infrastructure. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by a keen attention to detail, ensuring that all systems operate at peak performance.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly. Your experience in project management enables you to oversee the deployment of new systems and upgrades to existing data centers, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies and methodologies that enhance operational efficiency.

What you'll do

As a Controls Engineer at Amazon, you will be responsible for deploying and servicing building automation systems that are critical to the operation of AWS data centers. You will oversee the installation of new BMS and EPMS as part of new data center builds, ensuring that all systems are integrated seamlessly into existing infrastructure. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to deliver projects that enhance the operational capabilities of our data centers.

You will conduct regular assessments of existing systems to identify opportunities for upgrades and improvements, ensuring that our data centers maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Your technical expertise will be essential in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise within the automation systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous operation.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety and security within the team. You will contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures that guide the deployment and maintenance of building automation systems. Your insights will help shape the future of AWS infrastructure services, as you work to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
