Job Description

Who you are

You have 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, where you've designed and built data pipelines that support business intelligence and analytics. Your expertise in SQL and Python allows you to create efficient data models and ensure data quality across complex datasets. You are familiar with distributed systems technologies, including NoSQL databases and Apache Spark, and you understand the trade-offs involved in data architecture decisions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with Software Development Engineers and other Data Engineers to deliver high-quality data solutions. Your ability to write secure, stable, and maintainable code ensures minimal defects in production.

Desirable

Experience with AWS infrastructure is a plus, as is familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. You are comfortable mentoring junior team members and enjoy participating in code reviews and design discussions. Staying current on the latest data technologies is important to you, and you actively seek opportunities to improve your skills and knowledge.

What you'll do

As a Data Engineer II at Amazon, you will take ownership of designing, building, and optimizing logical data models and data pipelines. You will work autonomously on complex data challenges while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions. Your responsibilities will include ensuring ongoing data quality and creating self-service access to datasets for business intelligence. You will also optimize resource usage, including system hardware and data storage, while participating actively in code reviews and team planning. Mentoring and training junior team members will be part of your role, as you help them grow in their careers. You will resolve root causes of complex problems and balance customer requirements with team needs, contributing to the overall success of the data architecture.
