Who you are
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, particularly in data center environments. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining critical infrastructure, ensuring high reliability and performance in mission-critical facilities. Your understanding of HVAC systems and electrical engineering principles allows you to effectively support the operational needs of data centers. You are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining uptime above 99.999%, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
Desirable
Experience with diesel generators and three-phase electrical systems is a plus. Familiarity with data center operations and maintenance practices will help you excel in this role. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys working collaboratively with a team to achieve operational excellence.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving issues with critical systems, including stand-by diesel generators, UPSs, PDUs, and cooling systems. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure that all equipment meets or exceeds defined service levels. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability of AWS infrastructure, supporting the cloud services that millions of customers rely on.
You will also be involved in routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Your ability to analyze data and identify trends will help in minimizing operating costs while maintaining high performance. You will document all maintenance activities and assist in the development of standard operating procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
