Who you are
You are a technology leader with a strong background in hardware engineering, particularly in server performance. With 5+ years of experience, you have a deep understanding of high-speed interconnects, including PCIe, and are passionate about building architecturally sound systems that meet high performance standards. You thrive in collaborative environments, working with diverse teams of engineers and technical program managers to solve complex problems. Your customer-obsessed mindset drives you to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the AWS cloud experience.
You possess strong analytical skills and are adept at troubleshooting high throughput interfaces at scale. Your experience includes designing, developing, validating, and launching hardware components that support AWS EC2 server instances. You are comfortable interacting with both internal and external teams, ensuring that all aspects of server hardware and software are optimized for performance and reliability.
Desirable
Experience with cloud computing environments and a solid understanding of supply chain dynamics are highly desirable. Familiarity with AWS services and a background in system engineering will set you apart as a candidate. You are also encouraged to bring bold ideas to the table, contributing to an inclusive culture that values innovation and teamwork.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for the engineering of server hardware and software, focusing on performance optimization. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement high-quality systems that meet the demands of AWS customers. Your work will involve monitoring and troubleshooting server performance, ensuring that AWS EC2 instances operate at peak efficiency.
You will take ownership of PCIe topology for EC2 servers, working on the design and validation of high-speed interconnects. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and performance of AWS services, helping to maintain the highest standards for safety and security. You will also engage in continuous improvement efforts, leveraging data and feedback to refine hardware designs and enhance overall system performance.
