You have 3+ years of engineering team management experience β€” you've successfully led teams in developing customer-facing experiences and understand the intricacies of managing engineering resources. With 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams, you have a strong technical ability that allows you to communicate effectively with your team and stakeholders.

Your background includes 3+ years of designing or architecting systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling β€” you know how to build systems that can handle complex business problems while remaining efficient. You have 8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services, which has equipped you with the skills to tackle challenges in a fast-paced environment.

You possess excellent project management skills, allowing you to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality and service improvements. Your communication skills are top-notch, enabling you to motivate your team and achieve results effectively.

What you'll do

As a Software Development Manager at Amazon, you will lead a nimble team of engineers responsible for one of the world's largest product classification engines. Your role will involve direct management of engineers, focusing on their growth and development while ensuring the quality of service improvements. You will engage in strategic planning and project management for software within your team, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.

You will be responsible for overseeing the architecture and design of scalable systems that calculate accurate tax amounts for transactions on Amazon’s platform. What we offer
