Who you are

You have a strong background in machine learning and systems engineering, with experience in optimizing performance across software stacks. You are proficient in Python and have hands-on experience with frameworks like TensorFlow and Keras, enabling you to develop high-performance kernels for critical ML operations. Your analytical skills allow you to assess high-performance ML workloads effectively, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can work with diverse teams to drive innovation.

You understand the intricacies of memory management, parallelism, and instruction scheduling, and you are eager to tackle challenging technical problems that have not been solved before. Your experience with AWS services and the Neuron SDK will help you enhance developer experience and system capabilities. You are passionate about contributing to the future of AI infrastructure and are excited to be part of a core engineering team in Tel Aviv.

Desirable

Experience with compiler enhancements and kernel optimization is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud-based ML accelerators. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

What you'll do

As a Machine Learning Performance Engineer at Amazon, you will be responsible for optimizing system performance across the entire ML software stack. You will analyze high-performance ML workloads running on Annapurna hardware and develop high-performance kernels for critical ML operations. Your role will involve enhancing the Neuron SDK to improve developer experience and collaborating with Compiler, Frameworks, and Hardware teams to maximize end-to-end performance.

You will solve complex technical challenges at every layer of the stack, contributing to projects that involve instruction scheduling, memory management, and parallelism. Your work will directly impact the performance and efficiency of AWS's custom-built ML accelerators, Inferentia and Trainium, which are designed to deliver best-in-class performance for ML inference and training in the cloud.

You will also have the opportunity to shape the direction of the team from the ground up, driving innovation in ML systems performance and software. Your contributions will help build the future of AI infrastructure, making a significant impact on AWS's global customer base.
