You'll work with technologies like Python and Java to develop bidding systems and experimentation frameworks. This position requires experience in AI and machine learning.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in software development, particularly in building AI-powered systems — your experience includes designing and implementing complex algorithms that optimize performance and reliability. You are proficient in programming languages such as Python and Java, and you understand the intricacies of reinforcement learning and model fine-tuning. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product managers and data scientists to translate business needs into technical solutions.

You possess a solid understanding of experimentation systems — you know how to design frameworks that support multiple concurrent online experiments, allowing teams to test new strategies effectively. Your ability to interface agentic architectures and manage state across workflows is a testament to your technical expertise. You are detail-oriented and committed to ensuring the safety and trustworthiness of AI systems at scale.

What you'll do

As a Software Development Engineer II, you will take ownership of developing critical platform capabilities for Amazon's advertiser controls — this includes building the AI engineering infrastructure that powers bidding systems. You will design systems for model fine-tuning and reinforcement learning, ensuring that they are reliable and scalable. You will also create evaluation frameworks that assess the performance of these systems, contributing to the overall success of the Advertiser Controls team.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and scientists, to understand advertiser needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions. Your role will involve developing agent-to-agent communication protocols that facilitate seamless interaction between AI systems, enhancing their ability to work together effectively. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing experimentation systems that allow for rapid testing and iteration of bidding strategies based on real advertiser behavior.
