Amazon is hiring a Yard Area Manager to oversee yard operations and ensure efficient processing in collaboration with Dock, Receive, and Ship teams. This role requires strong program management skills and a background in transportation operations.

You have a background in transportation operations and possess excellent program management skills — your ability to lead and mentor people is complemented by your analytical skills, allowing you to make sound recommendations in often ambiguous environments. You thrive in challenging situations and are committed to improving processes while analyzing and eliminating root causes of defects within current systems. Exceptional communication skills are essential for influencing change at both local and global levels, and you believe in the importance of a diverse workforce in achieving success.

Desirable

Experience in managing yard operations or similar logistics environments is a plus, as is familiarity with FIFO processing and customer experience risk mitigation. You are adaptable and can handle the fast-paced nature of operations at Amazon, always treating every day like it's day one.

What you'll do

As a Yard Area Manager, you will be responsible for managing yard operations in coordination with Dock, Receive, and Ship teams — your primary goal will be to ensure FIFO processing and mitigate customer experience risks. You will standardize and improve processes, analyze data, and make recommendations to enhance operational efficiency. Your role will involve leading a team, mentoring staff, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will also be tasked with communicating effectively with various stakeholders to influence operational changes and drive success in the yard operations.
