Overview

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team in their logistics center in Tomigusuku-shi, Okinawa. You'll be responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and performance while managing daily operations. This role requires strong leadership and people management skills.

Who you are

You are a motivated and customer-centric individual with experience in managing teams in a logistics or operations environment. As an Area Manager, you will lead a team of hourly employees, ensuring that safety, quality, attendance, and performance are maintained at the highest levels. You understand the importance of meeting customer expectations and are committed to delivering results. You have a strong focus on continuous improvement and are skilled in people management, fostering engagement and development among your team members. You are proactive in identifying issues and implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

What you'll do

In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the logistics operations at the facility, managing workflows that include the first mile, middle mile, and last mile processes. You will be responsible for leading various projects with a 'People First' approach, ensuring that your team is engaged and supported. You will actively participate in the development and training of team members, listening to their feedback and implementing workplace improvements based on their insights. You will also lead initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity within your assigned processes, conducting daily safety activities and quality checks while managing training progress. Additionally, you will plan and manage daily operations to ensure that customer delivery promises are met, adapting to fluctuations in workload and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise.
