Who you are
You have a strong background in packaging design, with a focus on fiber-based materials that meet customer expectations while optimizing for sustainability and cost. Your experience includes developing prototypes and testing new packaging designs, ensuring they work seamlessly through the supply chain. You are proficient in using design software such as SolidWorks and ArtiosCAD, allowing you to create detailed specifications and visual renderings that communicate design intent effectively.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with program managers, engineers, and customer experience teams to ensure that packaging solutions are not only innovative but also practical and efficient. Your ability to engage with various stakeholders, including customers and vendors, enhances your design process, ensuring that all aspects of packaging are considered.
Desirable
Experience in automation and machinery development is a plus, as you will be co-located with experts in these fields. Familiarity with sustainability practices in packaging design will help you contribute to Amazon's commitment to reducing environmental impact.
What you'll do
In this role, you will directly develop and prototype new packaging designs that surprise and delight Amazon's customers. You will create visual renderings to communicate your design intent to stakeholders and produce detailed packaging specifications that guide production. Your responsibilities will also include producing reports on packaging performance and participating in or leading meetings to ensure that developments meet benchmarks for customer experience, supply chain efficiency, and sustainability.
You will travel to engage with customers, supply chain partners, labs, and vendors, ensuring that your designs are informed by real-world feedback and practical considerations. As part of the Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging team, your work will be vital in ensuring that future investments in automation are aligned with optimized packaging solutions.
What we offer
Amazon provides a competitive salary range of $132,100.00 - $178,800.00 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that values innovation and sustainability, contributing to projects that have a significant impact on customer experience and operational efficiency.
