Amazon is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to work on their Invoicing system. You'll tackle complex problems in one of the world's largest transactional distributed systems using Java and AWS. You have 5+ years of experience in software development, particularly in building scalable and reliable systems. You thrive on solving complex business problems and enjoy working with large datasets and distributed systems. Your expertise in Java and familiarity with AWS services make you a strong candidate for this role. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
You are passionate about software engineering and have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to learn and grow your skills. You understand the importance of delivering high-quality software that meets customer needs and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do
In this role, you will contribute to the Amazon Tax Platform Services, focusing on the invoicing system that calculates taxes for all Amazon sales globally. You will design and implement features that ensure accurate tax calculations and generate compliant invoices. Your work will involve collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-impact solutions.
You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the existing systems, ensuring they can handle millions of service requests per minute while managing hundreds of millions of records. You will also participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team. Your contributions will directly impact the customer experience and the efficiency of Amazon's tax operations.
