Job Description
Who you are
You are an experienced Tax Manager with a strong focus on Mexican tax advisory and audit activities. You possess in-depth knowledge of both direct and indirect tax regulations in Mexico, and you have a proven track record of managing tax audits and ensuring compliance with local laws. Your ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals sets you apart, making you an effective liaison between tax and other departments such as Accounting, Legal, and Finance.
You have a collaborative mindset and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable solutions that are tax-compliant. Your experience includes identifying and tracking new legislation and policy trends, which allows you to provide valuable insights to your team and stakeholders. You are detail-oriented and understand the importance of implementing key controls and risk management processes to minimize exposure to penalties.
Desirable
Experience in international tax planning and familiarity with global tax initiatives would be advantageous. A background in tax technology tools and software can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will manage and coordinate audits, litigation, and various tax projects, ensuring that all activities align with compliance standards. You will oversee the receipt and management of inquiries from business teams and stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Your responsibilities will also include drafting tax technical memos and opinions, providing insights on complex tax matters, and advising on domestic and international business initiatives.
You will work closely with partner teams to conduct internal reviews and risk assessments, ensuring that all processes are executed with the proper controls. Your role will involve identifying new legislation and planning trends, allowing you to proactively advise the business on potential impacts. You will play a key role in ensuring audit readiness and compliance, contributing to the overall efficiency of the tax function within Amazon.
