Overview

Amazon is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer for the Pentest Tools Team to drive complex technical initiatives and build security platforms at scale. You'll work with AWS technologies and GenAI to enhance penetration testing processes. This role requires strong technical leadership and experience in system design.

Job Description

Who you are

5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on building scalable systems — you've led complex technical initiatives and have a strong understanding of security principles and practices. Your expertise in AWS technologies allows you to leverage cloud capabilities effectively, ensuring robust and secure solutions.

Deep knowledge of GenAI tooling and processes — you understand how to integrate advanced technologies to enhance security measures and automate testing processes. You thrive in environments that require both hands-on development and high-level architectural thinking, bridging the gap between strategic vision and tactical execution.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and a bias towards independent work — you can tackle complex challenges head-on and break them down into implementable solutions. Your ability to mentor team members and promote engineering excellence ensures that your team builds maintainable solutions that scale with business needs.

What you'll do

Join the AWS Pentest Tools Team and lead the design and implementation of large-scale pentest automation systems that enhance security testing capabilities across AWS. You'll collaborate closely with principal engineers and security engineers, driving decisions that impact the global customer base.

Your role will involve hands-on development, where you'll write high-quality code and contribute to system design. You'll also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence within the team. As a senior engineer, you'll hold a high technical bar, ensuring that the solutions developed are not only effective but also maintainable and scalable.

You will work on complex technical initiatives, leveraging your expertise in AWS and GenAI to innovate and improve existing processes. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of penetration testing, allowing pentesters to focus on more challenging problems.

What we offer

Amazon provides a competitive salary range of $168,100.00 - $227,400.00 USD annually, along with comprehensive benefits including dental, vision, and mental health support. You'll have access to a 401(k) matching program, paid time off, and parental leave, ensuring a supportive work-life balance as you contribute to meaningful security initiatives.
