Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on building hyper-scale data applications — your experience includes working with AWS technologies and developing applications that handle large volumes of data in real-time. You are passionate about security engineering and understand the importance of building secure systems that protect sensitive information.
You possess deep expertise in programming languages such as Java and Python — you've developed applications that are not only efficient but also scalable, ensuring they can handle the demands of a growing user base. Your familiarity with AWS services like S3, Lambda, and EMR allows you to leverage cloud capabilities effectively in your projects.

A background in security practices and frameworks will also be beneficial as you contribute to Amazon's defensive security initiatives.

Your work will involve using Java and Python to build robust applications that integrate with various AWS services.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions — your ability to earn trust and build partnerships will be key to your success. You will also engage in system resilience testing and preparation, ensuring that the applications you develop are reliable and secure.
As part of the Defensive Security team, you will have the opportunity to take technical risks and experiment with new methods — your entrepreneurial spirit will be encouraged as you seek innovative solutions to complex problems. You will be empowered to make decisions that impact the security of Amazon's operations globally.
