Who you are
You have 4+ years of industry experience in software development, ideally with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Scala. Your engineering degree in Computer Science or a related field has equipped you with the skills necessary to innovate and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment. You possess a keen attention to detail and situational awareness, which allows you to spot potential fraud opportunities and design effective controls to mitigate risks. Your understanding of data structures and algorithms enables you to build efficient systems that can handle millions of transactions securely.
You are proficient in SQL and have experience with data modeling in relational databases, which is crucial for the role as you will be working with large datasets. Your strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with business teams will help you identify suspicious payment activities and flag them for further review. You are also familiar with AWS services and machine learning models, which will be essential for developing the next generation duplicate detection system.
What you'll do
As a Software Development Engineer II on the Thunder team, you will be responsible for developing scalable solutions that support Amazon's Finance Technology operations. You will work closely with business teams to identify and remediate fraud risks, ensuring that compliance is a critical aspect of all software you build.
