Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in designing and implementing distributed systems. Your background includes working with cloud technologies, and you have a strong understanding of data management and analytics. You are skilled in architecting scalable solutions that meet performance and cost requirements, and you are familiar with best practices in software engineering.
You possess deep knowledge of AWS services and have experience in building data lakehouses and analytics layers. Your expertise includes metadata management, data ingestion patterns, and ensuring data quality through validation gates. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment and can communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
In this role, you will architect and implement a scalable, cost-optimized S3-based Data Lakehouse that unifies structured and unstructured data from various sources. You will also establish a centralized OLAP-based analytics layer to support near real-time analytics for the Leo initiative. Your responsibilities will include designing and enforcing standardized data ingestion patterns with built-in quality controls and validation gates, ensuring that the systems you build are robust and efficient.
You will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that the systems you develop align with the mission of increasing global broadband access. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, and will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions that address the digital divide.
