Amazon is hiring a System Development Engineer to develop embedded industrial software and control systems for automation projects. You'll work with technologies like robotics and machine learning in Bellevue, Washington.

Who you are

You have a strong background in developing embedded industrial software and control systems, with experience in robotics and automation technologies. Your expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python allows you to design and maintain control software applications effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments and are comfortable interfacing with various internal teams and external partners to drive innovation in automation. You possess a passion for integrating robotics within advanced warehouse systems and are eager to contribute to the transformation of Amazon's global fulfillment network.

You are adaptable and entrepreneurial, ready to take ownership of your projects and lead by example. Your ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment is complemented by your strong problem-solving skills and technical acumen. You understand the importance of real-time data processing and distributed systems in enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Desirable

Experience with machine learning and image processing is a plus, as is familiarity with mechatronic systems. You may also have a background in supply chain optimization, which will further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain control software applications for mechatronic systems, ensuring seamless integration of robotics into Amazon's fulfillment processes. You will collaborate with internal R&D and design teams, as well as leading automation partners, to innovate and implement cutting-edge solutions. Your responsibilities will include developing software that enhances the automation of package delivery, optimizing supply chain processes, and improving the overall efficiency of the fulfillment network.

You will be involved in various automation projects from inception to execution, providing hands-on leadership and technical guidance to your team. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest advancements in robotics and automation technologies, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement in operational processes. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that arise during the development and implementation phases.
