You have a strong background in systems engineering with a focus on automation and integration — your experience includes developing applications within SCADA ecosystems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business needs. You are adept at generating requirements and documenting customer feedback, ensuring that your solutions are user-centric and effective. Your technical expertise is complemented by a commitment to security and compliance, as you produce architecture and design documents for various stakeholders.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy taking ownership of projects — you understand the importance of delivering functioning applications to production and are comfortable participating in on-call rotations for production support. Your ability to communicate effectively with engineering, production, and IT teams allows you to address challenges proactively and contribute to the overall success of the project.
Desirable
Experience with satellite systems or telecommunications would be a plus, as would familiarity with manufacturing processes and automation tools. You are always eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, which helps you stay ahead in a rapidly evolving field.
What you'll do
As a Senior System Development Engineer at Amazon Leo, you will be responsible for developing automated manufacturing applications within the Kuiper SCADA ecosystem. This role requires you to collaborate closely with production, engineering, and IT infrastructure teams to ensure that the systems you develop meet the operational needs of the satellite production process. You will take ownership of generating requirements, documenting designs, and iterating based on customer feedback to deliver high-quality applications.
Your responsibilities will also include producing system architecture and design documents for security reviews and end-user support. You will ensure that all system integrations comply with security standards and best practices. Additionally, you will provide support for startup activities and participate in an on-call rotation to address any production downtime escalations.
