Amazon is hiring a Senior Sys Dev Engineer for the Plexus Lab to design and maintain lab infrastructure for their low Earth orbit satellite network. You'll work with RF testing equipment and Linux-based systems to support satellite components. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and experience in RF systems.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in systems engineering with a focus on RF technologies — your experience includes designing and integrating complex RF devices and systems. You are proficient in using RF testing equipment such as VSA, VSG, and GNSS simulators, and you have a solid understanding of automated testing environments. Your problem-solving abilities are complemented by your capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

You possess experience managing software development processes, ensuring that hardware and software systems work seamlessly together. Your technical expertise extends to Linux-based software systems, where you have successfully integrated and supported various applications. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for troubleshooting complex RF issues, making you a valuable asset in any engineering team.

Desirable

Experience with satellite systems or ground-based hardware is a plus, as is familiarity with time-varying channel emulation. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of connectivity.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the lab infrastructure for Amazon Leo, Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. You will serve as a key liaison between software and hardware teams, facilitating the integration of new hardware and software systems to enhance satellite feature development and testing.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing continuous support for satellite components and complex RF hardware. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all systems are functioning optimally and that any issues are resolved promptly. You will also be involved in the development of automated testing protocols to streamline the testing process for RF devices.

As part of your role, you will engage in technical discussions and contribute to the overall strategy for lab operations. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge of RF technologies and systems integration. Your contributions will directly impact the success of Amazon Leo's mission to deliver reliable internet connectivity to underserved areas.

What we offer

Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive compensation, equity options, and a full range of medical and financial benefits. You will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to innovation and excellence in technology. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds in our workforce.
