Job Description
Who you are
You have hands-on experience with training audio models, whether that's conversational speech-to-speech, speech translation, speech recognition, or text-to-speech. You understand the intricacies of audio processing and have a strong foundation in machine learning principles, particularly as they apply to audio data. Your background includes working with large-scale models and you are familiar with the challenges of developing reliable and interpretable AI systems. You are passionate about pushing the boundaries of what's possible with audio technology and are committed to creating systems that are safe and beneficial for users.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with researchers and engineers across various domains. Your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively makes you a valuable team member. You are adaptable and open to feedback, always looking for ways to improve your work and the systems you help build. You are excited about the potential of AI to transform audio experiences and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that have a real-world impact.
What you'll do
As a Research Engineer on the Audio team, you will work across the full stack of audio machine learning, developing audio codecs and representations that enhance the quality and efficiency of audio processing. You will source and synthesize high-quality audio data, ensuring that the models you train are robust and effective. Your work will involve training large-scale speech language models and large audio diffusion models, focusing on creating systems that can understand and generate speech and audio with high fidelity.
You will collaborate with team members on various aspects of model development, including pretraining, finetuning, and reinforcement learning. Your role will also involve developing novel architectures for incorporating continuous signals into large language models, pushing the boundaries of what these systems can achieve. You will be responsible for translating research findings into practical applications, working closely with product teams to ensure that the technologies you develop are effectively deployed in real-world scenarios.
