Job Description
Who you are
You have strong experience as a Backend Test Engineer, particularly in Big Data environments such as Spark, Kafka, Flink, Hadoop, Hive, and Iceberg. Your ability to build scalable and robust backend test automation using Java or Python sets you apart. You are self-driven with a solid analytical mindset, and you understand the importance of quality throughout the data lifecycle.
You are familiar with shift-left testing principles and have experience embedding quality checks early in development. Your collaboration skills allow you to work closely with engineering, data, and program management teams to define effective test strategies. You are committed to ensuring high data fidelity across ingestion, transformation, and reporting layers.
What you'll do
In this role, you will drive quality for large-scale distributed data systems that power App Store analytics. You will implement and maintain automated validation frameworks for data pipelines and services, ensuring that automated tests are integrated into CI/CD pipelines for continuous feedback and early defect detection. You will partner with developers to shift quality left by embedding testability into data workflows and APIs, ensuring consistency and correctness of client-to-backend data flows across iOS, macOS, tvOS, and Web.
You will be responsible for defining test strategies and contributing to automation frameworks that enhance the overall quality of the App Store ecosystem. Your work will directly impact the customer experience by ensuring that the data powering features and insights is accurate and reliable. You will also be involved in creating validation reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve the best outcomes.
