Who you are
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have war stories from debugging complex distributed systems issues. You possess a deep expertise in backend technologies, databases, and API design — your ability to discuss technical tradeoffs across the stack is a key asset. You are passionate about developing products and features that serve everyone, and you have a learning attitude to continuously improve both yourself and your team.
Desirable
A BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Informatics (or equivalent experience) is preferred. Experience with technologies such as Ruby, Rails, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes will set you apart.
What you'll do
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Apple, you will join a highly motivated team of talented engineers who value collaboration and building highly reliable backend systems. You will work alongside a small but impactful team, enabling cross-functional collaboration with other departments at Apple. Your responsibilities will include mentoring other engineers, contributing to architecture discussions, and participating in code reviews and proposals. Your role will also involve shipping high-quality, performant, and reliable web applications that meet the needs of developers.
