Who you are

You are a systems-level thinker who thrives on bridging hardware and software — your passion lies in building prototypes that push the boundaries of what's possible. With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, you have a solid foundation to tackle complex engineering challenges. You possess excellent programming skills and a deep understanding of C and object-oriented programming practices, which you have honed through years of experience in embedded software and firmware design.

With a strong background in embedded systems, you have experience working with micro-controllers and developing software for various peripherals and features. Your familiarity with development environments on Unix, Linux, or macOS allows you to navigate different platforms with ease. You are self-driven and take the initiative to investigate new technologies, always looking for ways to innovate and improve existing systems.

Desirable

A Master's degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant industry experience would set you apart. You have a keen ability to read serial bus traces and board schematics, which enhances your capability to integrate hardware and software seamlessly. Your experience in developing instrumentation and tools further demonstrates your commitment to quality and precision in engineering.

What you'll do

As an Embedded Software Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for the development of macOS, iOS, and micro-controller code.
