Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in building scalable distributed services. Your leadership experience spans at least 2 years, where you've successfully managed engineering teams and fostered a collaborative environment. You possess a deep understanding of traffic management at Layer 4 or 7 of the OSI model, which is crucial for this role. Your strong communication skills enable you to work effectively with both engineering and non-engineering partners, ensuring alignment across teams.

You have a proven track record of operating highly scalable distributed services, which is essential for delivering best-in-class secure service networking. Your expertise in Traffic/Edge Engineering or Cloud Networking sets you apart, as you understand the complexities involved in managing traffic at scale. You are passionate about mentoring your team and driving innovation in service networking solutions.

What you'll do

As the Traffic Engineering Manager, you will lead a skilled team of engineers in designing and delivering secure service networking products that power Apple Services. Your team will be responsible for building the next generation of traffic mesh, ensuring that service-to-service communication is both performant and reliable. You will oversee the development of proxies, meshes, libraries, and other networking primitives that are critical for supporting Apple’s multi-billion dollar businesses.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define project goals and deliverables, ensuring that your team meets the high standards expected at Apple. Your role will involve hands-on leadership, where you will guide your team through the complexities of traffic management and help them navigate challenges in a fast-paced environment.
