You have a B.S. degree and experience in computer architecture and software engineering — you've tackled complex challenges and understand how different elements of a system interact. Your expertise in C++ object-oriented software development allows you to craft elegant solutions that enhance performance. You possess a strong understanding of SoC architectures, including fabrics, memory systems, and queuing theory, which enables you to analyze and optimize performance effectively.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams — your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly helps bridge the gap between hardware and software. You are data-driven and have experience with performance model development and analysis, utilizing data analytics and statistics to inform architectural decisions. Your passion for technology drives you to stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
Desirable
An M.S. degree is preferred, as well as a strong understanding of performance models and their implications on customer experience. Experience with data analytics tools and methodologies will further enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
As a Media-IP SoC Performance Engineer at Apple, you will own the performance models for several complex multimedia IPs that power Apple's SoCs. Your role will involve collaborating with engineers across various teams to define the architecture of new features and optimize trade-offs between performance, power, and area. You will leverage a variety of sources, including performance models and released devices, to provide data-driven insights that enhance the customer experience.
