Apple is hiring a Core OS Systems Software Engineer to work on Process Management and Device Attestation. You'll focus on system services and frameworks that support application lifecycles and device authentication. This role requires a strong understanding of operating system fundamentals.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a solid understanding of operating system fundamentals and experience working throughout the software stack — your problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex challenges in system services and device attestation. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-disciplinary teams to develop integrated operating systems that enhance user experiences across Apple devices.

With a passion for coding, you understand how each line of code impacts the overall system — your attention to detail ensures that you craft high-quality software that meets Apple's standards for excellence. You are comfortable participating in all stages of software development, from feature design and implementation to maintenance and bug fixing of released code.

You have experience developing and improving unit tests and performance tests — your analytical mindset allows you to diagnose and resolve customer-reported issues effectively. You are committed to continuous learning and growth, always seeking to enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.

What you'll do

As a Core OS Systems Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing system services (daemons) and frameworks that orchestrate the lifecycle of running applications — your work will ensure that Apple devices maintain their identity and integrity. You will collaborate with other engineers to design and implement new features that enhance the operating system's functionality.

You will also focus on device attestation, ensuring that only genuine Apple devices are in the hands of their rightful owners — this involves working on on-device software that authenticates devices and maintains security. Your role will require you to engage in performance testing and optimization, ensuring that the software you develop runs efficiently and effectively.

In addition to coding, you will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of the development process — your insights will help shape best practices within the team. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their careers.

What we offer

At Apple, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to innovation and excellence — you will work on groundbreaking technologies that shape the future of operating systems. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions are valued and recognized. You will have access to professional development opportunities, allowing you to enhance your skills and advance your career.

We believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace — we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us in creating exceptional user experiences that define the Apple brand.
