Position Summary
Arcesium seeks an exceptional Infrastructure Intern to join our Technology team for the summer. The Infrastructure team is responsible for all aspects of Arcesium’s cloud computing environment. The goal of our summer internship program is to give exposure to the projects and environment at Arcesium to students with an interest in systems infrastructure studying computer science, computer engineering, and other STEM majors. Both undergraduate and graduate students of all years are welcome and encouraged to apply. The Infrastructure Intern will work directly with experienced full-time engineers responsible for providing the core infrastructure required to run our customer-facing platform, while learning about how to build and scale a modern cloud-based enterprise SaaS business. The role requires a mix of systems engineering and software development.
Responsibilities
- Help implement the next-generation architecture and automation that manages the cloud environment for our SaaS platform
- Contribute to the design and implementation of our platform's infrastructure and likely getting exposure to Linux engineering, cloud computing (AWS), Kubernetes / Docker, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
- Work closely with our application teams to optimize integration between our software and infrastructure
- Assist the Infrastructure team with various projects. Examples of past projects include writing Slack bots used by all developers at Arcesium, building a CI job autoscaler to optimize the performance, reliability, and cost of CI jobs, introducing new self-service capabilities into our customer-facing products, and adding new features into our secrets manager. Potential projects for this summer will focus on the intersection of infrastructure and developer experience.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess a broad grasp of theory, practice, and interest in areas such as automation, Linux, networking, security, cryptography, cloud computing, systems administration, and software development
- Ability to code, along with strong thinking and communication skills, both written and verbal, is required
- Technologies we use include: Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Python, Haskell, Java, Kerberos (MIT/Windows), DNS (BIND), AWS (SQS, SNS, EC2, VPC, Route 53, EBS, S3, DynamoDB), SSH, IPSec, Ansible, NFS, Git
- Ability to use GenAI tools for enhancing productivity
The expected monthly salary for this position is $10,000. Our compensation package also includes a one-time housing stipend.
