Who you are
You have a strong background in RF engineering, with experience in designing, qualifying, and procuring active RF electronics such as frequency converters, SSPAs, and LNAs. Your expertise allows you to work effectively with mechanical, payload systems, electrical, and software engineers to achieve overall system requirements in your designs. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for innovation in satellite technology.
You possess a solid understanding of microwave frequencies and have hands-on experience in designing, simulating, implementing, and measuring both active and passive RF sub-systems. Your familiarity with hardware design processes, from requirements definition through manufacturing and qualification testing, sets you apart. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy tackling complex engineering challenges.
You are committed to continuous learning and improvement, always seeking to enhance your skills and knowledge in RF design. You understand the importance of data security and network visibility in satellite communications and are motivated to contribute to projects that have a significant impact on global connectivity.

What you'll do
As an RF Design Engineer at Astranis, you will be responsible for the design, qualification, and procurement of active RF electronics in the RF front end of satellite payloads. You will collaborate closely with other engineers to ensure that your designs meet the stringent requirements of our sophisticated customers, including large enterprises and government entities. Your role will involve designing, simulating, implementing, and measuring RF sub-systems at microwave frequencies, including SSPAs, LNAs, power amplifiers, up/down converters, oscillators, and filters.
You will take ownership of hardware designs from the initial requirements definition through to manufacturing, bring-up, and qualification testing. Your ability to work cross-functionally will be essential as you coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to achieve optimal system performance. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the design and testing phases, ensuring that all products meet our high standards for quality and reliability.
