Job Description
Who you are
You have 2+ years of experience working with OpenStack in production environments — you've designed and implemented cloud solutions tailored to client requirements, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Your proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting languages like Python and Bash allows you to automate deployment and management processes effectively.
You possess a strong understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs, SDN, and load balancing — this knowledge enables you to collaborate seamlessly with networking and storage teams to integrate OpenStack with existing infrastructure. Your familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes enhances your ability to optimize cloud solutions.
You are committed to implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards — your attention to detail helps you troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OpenStack deployments. Staying current with OpenStack developments and contributing to the open-source community is a priority for you.
Desirable
An OpenStack certification, such as COA - Certified OpenStack Administrator, is preferred — this demonstrates your commitment to professional development. Experience with other cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP will give you an edge in this role. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is also beneficial, as is familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and implement OpenStack-based cloud solutions tailored to client requirements — your expertise will be crucial in installing, configuring, and maintaining OpenStack components such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, and Swift. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OpenStack deployments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
You will automate OpenStack deployment and management processes, collaborating closely with networking and storage teams to integrate OpenStack with existing infrastructure. Providing technical guidance and support to clients and internal teams will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will participating in on-call rotations for critical support.
Staying current with OpenStack developments and contributing to the open-source community will be essential to your success in this role — you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of cloud solutions at AvePoint.
