Overview
Aviatrix is hiring a Principal Cloud Test Engineer to define and drive end-to-end test strategies for cloud networking and security platforms. You'll work with AWS, CI/CD, and Docker to enhance testing excellence across multiple teams. This role requires expertise in cloud security and testing frameworks.
Job Description
Who you are
You have extensive experience in cloud testing, particularly in networking and security domains — you've defined and implemented test strategies that ensure high quality and resilience in complex cloud environments. Your expertise in AWS and CI/CD practices allows you to influence design decisions early in the development process, ensuring that quality is built into the product from the start.
You are a technical authority in networking and security challenges — your ability to navigate complex systems and provide solutions has made you a go-to resource for your peers. You understand the importance of shift-left practices and have successfully integrated them into testing frameworks to enhance release velocity and customer trust.
Your background includes hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes — you are comfortable working in containerized environments and understand how to leverage these technologies for effective testing. You are also proficient in Linux, which allows you to manage and troubleshoot testing environments efficiently.
You possess strong programming skills, particularly in Python — your coding abilities enable you to develop automated tests and contribute to the overall quality architecture of the product. You are familiar with security testing practices and understand how to apply them in a cloud context.
You thrive in collaborative environments — you enjoy working with cross-functional teams, including customer support, to enhance test strategies and ensure that quality is a shared responsibility. Your communication skills allow you to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Desirable
Experience with performance and scale testing is a plus — you understand the nuances of testing systems under load and can provide insights into optimizing performance. Familiarity with security compliance standards will also be beneficial in this role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will define and drive the end-to-end test strategy for cloud networking and security platforms — your work will encompass functional, performance, scale, resiliency, and security testing. You will align your strategies with shift-left practices and the test pyramid, ensuring that quality is prioritized throughout the development lifecycle.
You will act as the technical authority for complex networking and security challenges — your insights will influence product and system design decisions, helping to shape the future of Aviatrix's offerings. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance testing frameworks and ensure that they meet the demands of modern cloud environments.
Your responsibilities will include setting the bar for testing excellence across multiple teams — you will mentor junior engineers and share best practices to foster a culture of quality within the organization. You will also work with customer support teams to gather feedback and continuously improve testing strategies based on real-world usage.
You will be involved in the implementation of CI/CD pipelines — your expertise will help streamline the testing process and ensure that releases are both timely and reliable. You will also contribute to the development of automated tests, leveraging your programming skills to enhance the overall efficiency of the testing process.
