You have 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a related role, demonstrating a strong background in designing and maintaining cloud-based systems. Your extensive knowledge of AWS services allows you to effectively manage and optimize cloud infrastructure. Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code is essential, as you will develop and maintain infrastructure using this tool. You also have experience with Okta for identity and access management, ensuring secure access to systems. Your expertise extends to AI tooling and infrastructure, including LLM-powered development tools, which you can apply to enhance engineering workflows and productivity. A comprehensive understanding of networking protocols is crucial for troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure issues.

Desirable

While not mandatory, familiarity with GCP and other cloud providers will be beneficial in this role. Experience in automating infrastructure deployment and management tasks will also set you apart. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product-engineering teams to support application deployments and ensure seamless integration of infrastructure solutions.

What you'll do

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Babbel, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on AWS, where you will develop and manage cloud-based solutions. You will also utilize Terraform to automate infrastructure as code, ensuring efficient deployment and management of resources. Your role will involve frequent operational work, including reviewing Terraform pull requests and providing support to other teams. You will ensure high availability, reliability, and security of our systems, troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure issues as they arise. Additionally, you will develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure processes and procedures, contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

You will participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support, ensuring that our infrastructure remains operational and responsive to any incidents. Collaboration with product-engineering teams will be key, as you will support application deployments and integrate infrastructure solutions that meet business needs. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our engineering workflows, allowing Babbel to deliver high-quality products to our users.
