Who you are
You are an early-career Software Engineer with a strong interest in high-performance computing and machine learning. You have experience with Python and are eager to learn about building tools that measure and optimize AI model performance. You thrive in collaborative environments and are excited about the opportunity to work at the intersection of AI and engineering.
You have a foundational understanding of benchmarking and performance testing, and you are keen to apply this knowledge in a practical setting. You are detail-oriented and enjoy problem-solving, especially when it comes to understanding how systems operate at a low level. Your curiosity drives you to explore new technologies and methodologies in the AI space.
Desirable
Experience with GPU programming or familiarity with AI models is a plus, but not required. You are open to learning and adapting to new challenges as they arise. A background in computer science or a related field will help you succeed in this role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for building the automated performance benchmarking suite for Baseten's AI infrastructure. You will run and automate standard LLM quality benchmarks and create custom performance suites tailored to specific workloads. Your work will involve measuring GPU FLOPS and stress-testing InfiniBand clusters to ensure our systems are production-ready.
You will collaborate closely with other engineers to validate infrastructure and create automated acceptance tests for new GPU clusters across various architectures. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of AI models in production, making your role crucial to the success of our platform.
