Job Description
Who you are
You have a solid background in software engineering, particularly in backend development, with a focus on building scalable systems. Your experience includes working with blockchain technologies, specifically Ethereum and smart contracts, which allows you to contribute effectively to the Stablecoins team at BitGo. You understand the complexities of handling real-world value and are comfortable navigating the regulatory landscape associated with digital assets.
You possess strong programming skills in Java, which you have used to develop robust backend services. Your familiarity with Solidity and other blockchain-related languages enables you to engage with smart contract deployment and on-chain operations. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for creating secure and efficient systems that support financial transactions.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to deliver innovative solutions. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies in the rapidly evolving digital asset space.
Desirable
Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with decentralized finance (DeFi) concepts. You may have worked on projects involving stablecoins or other digital currencies, giving you insights into the challenges and opportunities in this sector. A proactive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development will help you excel in this role.
What you'll do
As a Software Engineer on the Stablecoins team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers BitGo's Stablecoin-as-a-Service platform. This includes developing backend services for order management, policy enforcement, and partner integrations. You will engage in smart contract deployment and manage on-chain operations such as minting and burning stablecoins.
You will collaborate with other engineers to design and implement scalable systems that handle significant transaction volumes across various blockchain networks, including Ethereum and Layer 2 solutions. Your role will involve optimizing existing services and ensuring they meet the high standards required for financial applications.
You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall architecture of the systems you work on, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and maintainable. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge of blockchain technologies and best practices in software development.
