Desirable

What you'll do

In this role, you will innovate to amplify the efficiency of mobile developers at Block. You will be responsible for building and providing the necessary infrastructure and tools that ensure Square's Android development can continue to be fast and efficient at scale. Your primary focus will be on identifying key performance bottlenecks in the development experience, including the build system, IDE integrations, testing frameworks, and pull request workflows.

You will help define the scope and priorities of the team by identifying opportunities to decrease build times, reduce system complexity, and improve the overall developer experience. Your work will involve optimizing the performance, reliability, and usability of our CI pipeline, ensuring that developers can focus on building great applications without being hindered by inefficient processes.

You will own the success of your team's projects, collaborating with other engineers to implement solutions that enhance productivity. Your insights will drive the development of tools that empower hundreds of mobile developers to move more quickly than competitors, ultimately contributing to the success of Block's mission of economic empowerment.
