Who you are

You are a motivated individual eager to dive into the world of community strategy and digital marketing. You have a keen interest in understanding internet culture and how brands can authentically engage with their audiences online. Your research skills are strong, allowing you to analyze various platforms and identify where conversations about relevant topics are happening. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, reporting into the Marketing team while also engaging with Product and Engineering teams.

Desirable

Experience or coursework related to marketing, community management, or digital strategy would be beneficial. Familiarity with platforms like Reddit and other social media channels is a plus, as is a passion for understanding how brands can build trust and engage with their communities effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will help Brightspot develop and test a digital community building strategy. Your primary focus will be on researching how to effectively participate in conversations on Reddit, but you will also explore other platforms where relevant discussions are taking place. You will analyze how people talk about the problems that Brightspot solves and determine the best ways for the brand to engage authentically in those spaces. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about growth marketing and community building while contributing to a leading content management system.
