You are an exceptional software engineer with a strong background in Linux kernel development. You have experience working with both stable and cutting-edge kernels, and you are passionate about contributing to the Ubuntu ecosystem. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to work with a diverse team across different time zones.

You possess a deep understanding of hardware and virtualization enablement, security, reliability, and performance. Your experience spans various platforms and architectures, from embedded devices to large-scale cloud environments. You are committed to ensuring production readiness and performance for the latest kernel patchsets.

What you'll do

As a Linux Kernel Engineer at Canonical, you will be part of a rapidly growing kernel team responsible for all supported Ubuntu Linux kernels. You will engage in projects that include benchmarking, stress testing, and optimizing kernels for key silicon and cloud partners. Your work will directly impact the performance and security of Ubuntu across a wide range of hardware.

You will collaborate with major kernel contributors, including silicon companies, to ensure their work reaches the widest audience quickly. You will also have opportunities for technical leadership and engineering management, contributing to the strategic direction of the kernel team.
