You are an exceptional security-focused software engineer with a passion for enhancing product security across diverse teams. You have experience in challenging teams to think deeply about security, employing state-of-the-art practices such as threat modeling, architecture reviews, and static analysis. Your background includes a strong understanding of vulnerability response and proactive security measures, making you a key player in ensuring the integrity of software products.
You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with other engineers, customers, and partners across the open-source ecosystem. You are comfortable participating in community discussions and contributing to open-source projects, understanding that security is a shared responsibility. Your ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly and effectively is one of your strengths, allowing you to influence and educate your peers.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be integrated across product teams at Canonical, contributing not only as an engineer but also as a security advocate. You will lead efforts in threat modeling and conduct architecture and design reviews to identify potential security vulnerabilities early in the development process. Your responsibilities will include implementing static analysis tools and fuzzing techniques to enhance the security posture of our products.
You will also engage in vulnerability response, working to quickly address and remediate security issues as they arise. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that security best practices are integrated into the product development lifecycle. You will participate in table-top exercises to simulate security incidents and improve the team's readiness to respond effectively.
