Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering, particularly with open source technologies. You care deeply about quality, performance, and resilience in software, and you are comfortable with both designing and engineering new software as well as packaging, integrating, testing, and shipping software. You thrive in a distributed team environment and are excited about collaborating with colleagues from around the world.

You are familiar with the Ubuntu platform and its applications in various sectors, including public cloud, data science, AI, and IoT. Your experience allows you to integrate the freshest open source software and provide robust upgrade paths for users. You understand the importance of community and are eager to contribute to the developer experience across different user levels, from students to high-performance engineering teams.

What you'll do

As an Ubuntu Software Engineer, you will work across the breadth of the Ubuntu Engineering organization. Your responsibilities will include designing and engineering new software, integrating open source software, and ensuring that the software meets high standards of quality and performance. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and contribute to the future of Ubuntu, enabling innovation for millions of users worldwide.

You will also be involved in packaging and testing software, ensuring that it is ready for deployment in various environments.
