You have demonstrable experience working on modern web applications — you understand the intricacies of building responsive user interfaces that function seamlessly across a wide range of devices and browsers. Your strong understanding of HTML and CSS, particularly with SCSS, allows you to create visually appealing and functional web pages. You are proficient in JavaScript and have experience with JavaScript component libraries, which enables you to build dynamic and interactive web applications. Additionally, your familiarity with TypeScript enhances your ability to write robust and maintainable code.
You are well-versed in version control systems, particularly Git, which is essential for collaborating with other developers in a distributed team environment. You also have an awareness of SEO best practices and consider accessibility in all your projects, ensuring that your web applications are usable by everyone. Your collaborative spirit shines through as you work alongside visual designers and UX designers, contributing to exciting new web projects.
What you'll do
As a Web Developer at Canonical, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that brings innovative web projects to life. You will collaborate closely with visual designers and UX designers to ensure that the user experience is both engaging and intuitive. Your role will involve developing modern web applications that align with Canonical's mission of making open source software accessible to everyone. You will be challenged to think differently and work smarter, constantly learning new skills and improving your craft.
You will participate in regular team meetings, which occur two to four times a year in various locations around the world, to align on strategy and execution. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of millions of users who rely on Canonical's software. You will also have opportunities to mentor junior developers and share your knowledge with the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
