You have a strong background in software engineering with at least 5 years of experience in full stack development — you've successfully delivered high-quality, performant, and reliable code across various projects. Your expertise spans both frontend and backend technologies, allowing you to contribute effectively to all layers of the application stack.

You are proficient in JavaScript and have hands-on experience with frameworks such as React and Node.js — you understand how to build responsive user interfaces and robust server-side applications. Your familiarity with AWS services, including S3 and CloudFront, enables you to design scalable cloud-based solutions.

You have experience with Docker and CI/CD practices, particularly with tools like Jenkins — you understand the importance of automation in the development lifecycle and are comfortable setting up and maintaining deployment pipelines. Your knowledge of system design and operational best practices in distributed environments ensures that you can build applications that are not only functional but also maintainable and scalable.

You thrive in agile environments and are comfortable participating in team processes — you enjoy collaborating with other engineers to continuously evolve practices and improve team dynamics. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by a willingness to jump in and help resolve incidents, ensuring that you contribute to the overall reliability of the applications you work on.

Desirable

Experience with Progressive Web Applications (PWA) and service workers is a plus — you understand how to enhance user experiences through modern web technologies. Familiarity with backend frameworks like NestJS and Express will help you integrate services seamlessly into web applications.

What you'll do

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Careem, you will play a crucial role in building the Everything App, which aims to simplify and improve the lives of millions across the Middle East. You will write high-quality code while working on defined tasks and bugs independently, ensuring that features are delivered on time and meet functional specifications.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers to design and implement end-to-end features, contributing to both the frontend and backend codebases. Your ability to understand functional specifications will allow you to deliver complete features that enhance the user experience.

You will participate in the on-call rotation, being ready to assist in resolving any incidents within defined service level agreements (SLAs) — your proactive approach will help maintain the reliability of the applications. Additionally, you will engage in team agile processes, contributing to their continuous evolution and fostering a culture of collaboration and improvement.

Your work will involve building highly scalable and robust applications, leveraging your knowledge of AWS and frontend infrastructure. You will also collaborate on system design discussions, ensuring that the architecture supports the growing needs of the platform.
