You have a solid background in data engineering, with experience in migrating and modernizing data platforms — you've worked with legacy systems and understand the complexities involved in transitioning to cloud architectures. Your expertise in Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) allows you to navigate the intricacies of data migration effectively.

You are proficient in SQL and have hands-on experience with data transformation tools like Dataform and BigQuery — you know how to create reliable data pipelines and ensure data quality through deduplication and standardization. Your familiarity with Apache Spark and Databricks equips you to handle large-scale data processing tasks efficiently.

You understand the principles of Data Mesh and have experience implementing them in real-world scenarios — you appreciate the importance of strong governance and the need for a well-defined architecture that supports data accessibility and usability across domains.

You thrive in challenging technical environments, especially those dealing with high volumes of data — your ability to implement batch and streaming data ingestion patterns using Dataflow (Apache Beam) showcases your adaptability and technical prowess.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be at the forefront of executing the migration and modernization of a legacy data platform — you will analyze and migrate notebooks and pipelines, ensuring that the transition to the new architecture is seamless and efficient. Your responsibilities will include refactoring existing logic and rewriting processes for SQL/Dataform or Dataflow.

You will develop and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines, utilizing BigQuery and Dataform to create trusted data layers — your focus will be on ensuring data quality and consistency throughout the transformation process. You will also implement data ingestion standards, leveraging Dataflow for both batch and streaming data.

As part of a collaborative team, you will work closely with other data professionals to build a modern data foundation that supports advanced analytics and AI capabilities — your contributions will be crucial in enabling the organization to leverage its data assets effectively.
