You have proven experience in software development and systems engineering, with a strong understanding of relational database engines, preferably PostgreSQL. You thrive on responsibility and take pride in building highly scalable and reliable systems that enable others. Your expertise in AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices allows you to anticipate operational risks and bottlenecks effectively.

You are well-versed in working with cloud technologies, particularly AWS services such as RDS, S3, Lambda, and SNS/SQS. Your knowledge of Terraform and Kubernetes enables you to manage infrastructure efficiently. You enjoy collaborating with teams across domains and sharing knowledge freely, contributing to a supportive engineering culture.

Desirable

Experience with Kafka is a plus, as it complements your skills in building robust content storage infrastructure. Familiarity with best practices in software development and a passion for enhancing customer experiences through technology will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing Contentful's content storage infrastructure, which is foundational to the billions of requests served daily. You will work closely with teams in the content storage and delivery domains, ensuring that the infrastructure is scalable and reliable. Your contributions will directly impact customer experiences by enhancing performance features.

You will collaborate with other engineers to innovate and maintain the underlying storage infrastructure and adjacent services. Your work will involve developing and maintaining services written in TypeScript and Go, ensuring they meet the high standards expected by Contentful's customers. You will also play a key role in identifying and mitigating operational risks, anticipating bottlenecks or failure points before they cause problems.
