Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on data analytics — your experience includes tackling complex technical challenges and shipping entire features autonomously. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to work closely with founders to shape the future direction of a fast-growing company.
Your technical expertise includes proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for backend development, as well as React for frontend applications — you understand how to create seamless user experiences and are comfortable working across the full stack. You also have experience with Python and are familiar with technologies like WebAssembly and WebGL, which are crucial for developing innovative data visualization tools.
You are passionate about building products that make data accessible and understandable for users — your previous roles have equipped you with the skills to develop applications that empower teams to work with data more effectively. You are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a product that is often referred to as the 'Figma for data'.
You have a proactive mindset and are comfortable working in a flat organizational structure — your ability to collaborate with team members and users alike will help drive the success of Count's mission. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement, always looking for ways to enhance your skills and the products you work on.
Desirable
Experience with data visualization libraries and custom rendering engines would be a plus — you understand the importance of creating intuitive and engaging user interfaces. Familiarity with database technologies like DuckDB and Apache Arrow will also be beneficial as you work on projects that require efficient data handling and processing.
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Count, you will be responsible for designing and implementing features that enhance the Count canvas — your work will directly impact how data teams interact with their data and collaborate with the wider business. You will take ownership of business-critical projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and meet the high standards expected by users.
You will collaborate closely with the founders and other team members to define the technical direction of the product — your insights and expertise will help shape the roadmap and prioritize features that align with user needs. You will also engage with users to gather feedback and iterate on features, ensuring that the product evolves in line with their requirements.
Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and conducting code reviews to uphold quality standards within the team — you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their roles. You will also participate in team brainstorming sessions and contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration.
