What you'll do

As a Staff Backend Engineer at Coupang, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing backend systems that provide the best purchasing experience for customers in Taiwan. You will collaborate with product designers and product managers to localize existing services, such as the Wow membership, ensuring they meet the needs of the Taiwanese market. Your work will involve building scalable systems that can easily adapt to global requirements, enhancing the overall customer experience.

You will be responsible for ensuring high availability and performance of distributed systems, capable of handling large volumes of traffic. This includes designing and implementing solutions that guarantee system reliability and efficiency. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including UX designers and QA engineers, to develop and implement technical solutions that align with business goals.

Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. You will participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
