Who you are

You have over 7 years of experience in Data Security or related areas, with a strong expertise in two or more of the following: Cryptography and Kubernetes Security. Your background includes a deep understanding of security protocols and practices, enabling you to identify and address vulnerabilities effectively. You are skilled in building secure systems that protect sensitive data and have a proven track record of implementing security measures in complex environments.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to represent the security engineering discipline throughout the organization. You are comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that security considerations are integrated into all aspects of product development. Your ability to attract top talent and foster a collaborative team environment is a key strength.

What you'll do

In this role, you will make Databricks safer for customers by identifying and plugging key gaps in our infrastructure and services. You will lead initiatives to enhance the security of our data analytics and machine learning platform, ensuring that customer data is protected from bad actors. Your responsibilities will include defining the vision and strategy for security engineering, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices, and representing Databricks at academic and industry conferences.

You will work closely with engineering teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle, conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to proactively address potential threats. Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, sharing your expertise in security practices, and fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization.
