You possess strong experience in distributed systems, backend, or infrastructure engineering — you've designed and implemented complex systems that require high scalability and reliability. Your background includes working with AI technologies, and you understand the intricacies of training and evaluating AI agents in simulated environments. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys mentoring others and shaping the culture of a new, cross-functional team.

Desirable

Experience with synthetic data generation tools and evaluation pipelines is a plus. Familiarity with observability and automation tools will help you thrive in this role. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

What you'll do

As a Staff AI Engineer at Datadog, you will play a foundational role in designing and scaling our simulation platform. You will collaborate across AI research and product teams to deliver environments where AI agents can learn, reason, and take action. Your responsibilities will include developing high-fidelity simulation environments that model complex distributed systems with realism and scalability. You will also define the architecture and technical direction for Datadog’s emerging simulation platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our AI products. Mentoring engineers and contributing to the culture of your team will be key aspects of your role, as you help shape the future of AI at Datadog.
